About us
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in Columbia,
South Carolina, serving families from throughout the
state who seek treatment for their children here.
In 1978, Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Columbia
was formed to create the Ronald McDonald House of Columbia
and led by Dr. P. Charlton Davis, then-Richland Memorial
Hospital staff, members of Candlelighters, Sam and Marge
McCormick, and local McDonald's restaurant owners.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Columbia was formed
in January of 1996, merging Pediatric Family Services of
the Midlands and Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities.
Today, we are an active, energetic organization with a
volunteer board of directors and professional staff serving
families and children and supported by a caring community
of volunteers and generous contributors and sponsors.
